Culture, Character and Growth

Excellence of character is the precondition for excellence in every other sphere. In general education as well as in specific training and in all other types of preparation for the future, building character should therefore always be granted the highest priority.

The project of character formation is what the ancient Greeks called paideia.

The mission of Augusta Academy is to become the modern embodiment of classical paideia and transmit its benefits to every person and institution that we interact with.

Augusta Academy is not only offering useful, historical and philosophical insights, but something even more valuable; knowledge about yourself, knowledge about your proper place, purpose and direction in time and space, i.e. knowledge that will enable you to find and maintain inspiration, motivation and dedication in the real world and in a healthy and constructive manner.

Such knowledge will make a lasting contribution to the continuous formation of your character, elevating and strengthening it.

Character formation is a direct way to improve personal performance overall in all spheres of life, and that is what Augusta Academy is here to help you achieve; realize your potential, maximize your performance and increase your rewards.

Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

Self conquest is the greatest of victories.

Justice in the life and conduct of the State is possible only as first it resides in the hearts and souls of the citizens

We are drowning in information, while starving for wisdom. The world henceforth will be run by synthesizers, people able to put together the right information at the right time, think critically about it, and make important choices wisely.
